Are the products Goliath uses okay for my children and pets to be around?

Yes. We provide service for people with children and pets every day and have been doing so safely since 1998. The products we use for most of our services fall within the least toxic category of EPA (Environmental Protection Agency) standards.

Will your service still work if it rains?

Yes. In most cases the over hanging eves of the home or building shield the treated areas from rain. Because of our precise application, rain rarely reaches the cracks and crevices where we treat for bugs.

What is an occasional pest?

Occasional pests are those that tend not to develop an infestation inside your home. However, they can still be a reoccurring problem. A reoccurring problem normally indicates a major breeding source somewhere around the outside rather than inside your home.

Can you do something about mosquitoes?

Yes. We can take measures to limit mosquito breeding sights. Mosquitoes need standing water to reproduce, so it's best to eliminate all standing water. Then, we provide a surface application to eliminate mosquito problem without high cost and negative side effects. This service typically controls mosquitoes for about one month.

How frequently will you service my home for pest?

Every environment and situation is different, but some general assumptions can be made.

• Service, for most structures, in Texas should be no further apart than three months.
• The optimum service frequency would be monthly, but this is not always cost efficient or necessary.
• Service every two months is the best choice, for most homes in Texas.
• Service for commercial properties should be every two weeks or monthly due to increased volume of traffic, number of entrances, and sanitation issues found around commercial establishments.
• Service for food handling establishments should be every two weeks, but absolutely no further apart than one month.

I have a fish pond or an aquarium. Will the products that you use harm my fish?

No, not when applied correctly. At Goliath Pest Control, Inc. we do not apply pesticides to water.

I have termites in my fence. What should I do about it?

In most cases, you should just replace the wood that the termites have infested and correct whatever attracted the termites in the first place. We do not recommend treating a fence for termites, because it cost less to replace the damaged wood than to have a termite treatment done. If termites are close to the home or structure, we recommend treating the areas of the structure closest to where the termites are located, as a preventative measure.

How long does the service take to work?

Reactive services will take up to 21 days, but in most cases you will see results within 24 to 72 hours. Pests come in contact with the treated area at night when they are exploring your home for food and water. Proactive services start working the very first day. You never notice what is happening because only a few bugs are killed each day and night. This is one of the benefits of being proactive.
